Quantity Surveyor
Location: Near Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits

About the Company
We are working on behalf of a well-established, medium-sized main contractor based near Sawbridgeworth. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction and refurbishment projects across both domestic and commercial settings, they are now looking to expand their commercial team with the addition of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs and contracts on a diverse range of projects. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that works are delivered on budget, to the desired quality, and in line with client expectations.
Typical project types include:
Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works
Front Entrance Door (FED) and communal doorset replacements
Estate regeneration schemes
Kitchens and bathrooms (K&B’s) upgrades
External repairs and refurbishments
Window and door replacements
Internal and external property refurbishments
Retrofit works
External works and adaptations
Roofing replacements
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installations, upgrades and adaptations
Key Responsibilities:
Cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
Management of subcontractor packages and payments
Preparation and negotiation of variations and change control
Liaising with project teams, clients, and stakeholders
Supporting contract administration and risk management
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a main contractor
Familiarity with social housing, refurbishment or regeneration works is advantageous
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
A methodical, commercially aware approach with attention to detail
