The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class, guiding pupils through their final year of primary school and preparing them for a smooth transition to secondary education.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Preparing pupils for end of Key Stage 2 SATs with confidence and care
Using assessment effectively to track progress and inform next steps
Providing targeted support and challenge for all learners, including SEND and higher attainers
Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing during this important transition year
Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher, support staff, and leadership team
Contributing to the wider life of the school, including clubs, trips, and enrichment opportunities
Candidate Requirements
The school is seeking a teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience in Upper Key Stage 2 (preferably Year 6), or a strong desire to teach this phase
Demonstrates a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations
Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
Is organised, reflective, and committed to ongoing professional development
Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
Brings energy, positivity, and a proactive approach to teaching
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with strong potential are also encouraged to apply.

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependant on experience)
