Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST6+) in Paediatric Retrieval (PaNDR) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
There are two posts available. One post is available from 07 July 2025 for 12 months and the second post is available from 04 August 2025 until 05 May 2026 with the possibility of extension.
This post has previously been occupied by a number of overseas Trainees who have found it beneficial to have exposure in Acute Paediatric Retrieval in a Tertiary Unit.
This post will also appeal to senior Trainees, including post-CCT holders, wishing to gain further experience in Acute Paediatric or Paediatric Critical Care, guided and supported by the national PICS-ATG transport Passport Curriculum. It is particularly suited for those seeking experience at middle grade level in a centre of excellence before pursuing their first Consultant post.
Fellows and Trainees with at least two years of experience in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care Medicine, or trained in Emergency Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in the Middle Grade rota, which involves a full shift pattern regulated by the European Working Time Directive (EWTD).
Support for study and professional leaves are included in the job plan. Participation in research and audit activities is strongly encouraged, with training opportunities comparable to those for the Specialty Registrars in the department.
Applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification to be considered.
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition. However, the experience can be used as Out of Programme Experience (OOPE).
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at the start of the post are required.
