We are looking for a for a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to join our Learning and Development team on a fixed term basis for 9 months, based in the Darlington office (hybrid based). To learn more about Railpen including our values, culture and purpose, visit our LinkedIn Life page here The role This role will support the performance of our people; oversee the creation of programmes and interventions to develop current and future skills and capabilities within the function, focussing on pensions expertise, in line with the strategic priorities of the organisation. As part of this, you will be tasked with building a robust and effective L&D framework to be embedded within the Benefits function. This is an opportunity to have a real impact on the development and implementation of consistent and effective L&D processes and contribute to culture and performance within the Benefits function which will support our people to achieve their full potential through learning and development. The person We are looking for someone with operational experience of developing robust frameworks around L&D including reporting, measurements of success and standardised ways of working. You will have the ability and desire to deliver the wider L&D plan within Benefits which will include overseeing the design, delivery and evaluation of specific and often technical pensions training. As an L&D Manager, you will look to guide and develop your direct reports through coaching and mentoring, whilst fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Previous experience working within Financial Services would be a distinct advantage, however this isn’t essential. To be successful within this role, you will have an ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders within the L&D team and the Benefits function to ensure successful delivery of key priorities. This role will require excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to adapt and re-plan due to competing or changing priorities. You will have a passion for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and have the ability to influence and constructively challenge existing processes and ways of working to encourage the development of L&D best practice.
