This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover position based in Aberdeen, offering a competitive salary and a flexible hybrid working pattern. It presents an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, and diverse team.


As the PMO you will provide strategic leadership to the Ireland PMO in overseeing the successful establishment of the Irish Search and Rescue contract.


Main responsibilities


* Responsible for Project Management of the SAR implementation process.
* Responsible for maintaining the SAR Virtual Library.
* Responsible for to providing effective programme and project management support to the mobilisation project.
* Responsible for overseeing programme and project management support for the mobilisation project.
* Providing support to workstream leads in managing the related programme/project plans.
* Co-ordinate resource allocation across projects.
* Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and managing document archives to satisfy Client audit requirements.
* Responsible for the maintenance of programme documents.
* Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Project Management processes, standards and documents.
* Undertake Supervision of Project Managers as required and reporting project progress to the Deputy Director.
* Responsible to the Safety and Compliance manager for Quality Audits of project management as required.
* Responsible for the management and review of the programme risk register, issue log, dependencies log and change control log.
* Responsible to the Deputy Director for maintaining Contract Key Deliverables throughout the Transition Period.
* Act as the Focal Point for all Trials, maintaining all trial records for audit purposes and to ensure approval and funding have been sought.


Qualifications

* MBA or equivalent experience.
* Project management qualification (Prince 2, PMP, MSP etc.)


Experience

* A background in aviation or air-related activities.
* Experience of Search and Rescue service delivery (civilian or military).


Skills

* Experience of delivering large Public Sector/Government projects.
* Strong leadership attributes and experience of managing teams.
* Capable of displaying initiative and delivering against tight deadlines.
* Strong communication skills both written and oral.
* Excellent inter-personal skills that build trust, confidence and collaborative relationships
* Well-developed analytical skills that contribute effectively to issue prioritisation and problem solving.
* Effective time management skills so that deadlines are managed efficiently.
* Ability to own and solve problems to minimise escalations.
* Capable of managing and directing output from diverse teams.
* Highly skilled at Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project and other MS software applications.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to respond constructively to changing demands, meet tight deadlines and maintain quality.
* Flexibility to react to short notice changes whilst retaining focus and a sense of humour.
* Willingness to travel and to work flexible hours when required.
