About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Tool Designers – Detail Parts to join a high‑performing engineering team in Warton. This role sits within Operations/Manufacturing, supporting Falcon Works, and focuses on delivering detailed tooling designs for airframe‑related components. You will be responsible for taking tooling concepts through full development lifecycle stages—right through to manufacture—supporting cutting‑edge manufacturing demonstration and technology programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver detailed tooling designs from concept through to manufacture
* Support development programmes with robust tooling solutions
* Tooling specifications
* Design review documentation
* Bills of Materials (BoMs)
* UKCA marking documentation (where required)
* Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams (design, toolroom, process development) and external suppliers
* Apply internal and external standards governing tooling activities
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in detail tool design (preferably within the aerospace sector)
* Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 (particularly surfacing)
* Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Ability to solve complex engineering problems from concept to delivery
* Comfortable working in early lifecycle programmes with evolving requirements
* Experience with composite detail tooling and elastomer forming
* Familiarity with internal systems such as SAPCAMS and PLM
