We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in Edgware, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 1 teacher who is passionate about supporting children during this crucial transition year and helping them prepare confidently for Key Stage 2.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum while ensuring pupils are well prepared for end-of-key-stage expectations. You will create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that promotes independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum
* Prepare pupils for KS1 assessments and transition into KS2
* Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, independence, and high expectations
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and wellbeing
* Contribute to planning meetings, staff meetings, and school initiatives
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have recent experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
* Have a strong understanding of KS1 assessment and transition expectations
* Be nurturing, organised, and enthusiastic
* Have excellent classroom management skills
* Be a team player with strong communication skills
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
