Overview
Creative Learning Producer (Maternity Cover) – you will design, manage and deliver Creative Learning programmes across the Sunderland Empire theatre, the largest seated venue between Manchester and Edinburgh. The role supports local adults, children and young people through school outreach, weekly classes and community projects, and works closely with national Creative Learning colleagues, show producers and local partners.
Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver all aspects of a creative learning programme for ATG Entertainment Sunderland Empire in line with the national Creative Learning strategy.
* Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across the wider arts community, including local authorities, educational and cultural organisations, funders and venue producers.
* Effectively manage agreed budgets to ensure income and expenditure targets are met.
* Monitor and evaluate activity, and communicate Creative Learning opportunities and successes to broad audiences.
* Recruit, engage and support Sunderland Empire Creative Learning staff, freelance practitioners, casual staff and suppliers.
* Fulfil any other task reasonably required.
Qualifications – Essential
* Experience producing and delivering high‑quality learning and engagement projects for diverse groups in an arts or education setting.
* Project management experience with strong finance management, earned‑income generation and contribution to fundraising campaigns or sponsorship initiatives.
* People‑management experience and experience working in partnership with external stakeholders.
* Recruitment and support of freelance artists and other creative workers.
* Understanding of marketing and communications and their role in Creative Learning.
* Knowledge of safeguarding duties and best practices.
* Resourceful and adaptable, able to manage multiple projects, relationships and partnerships.
* Highly organised, able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Computer‑literate, proficient with Office 365.
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Experience as a skilled arts practitioner.
* Knowledge of the local Creative Learning landscape and the broader cultural and education sectors.
* Knowledge of privacy issues in the context of Creative Learning.
* Good knowledge of multi‑arts genres, disciplines and approaches.
