Are you passionate about delivering meaningful, user-centred digital experiences? We’re looking for an Experience Designer to champion the user voice and help shape the Experience Architecture practice at Digital Technology Solutions (DTS).
The Role
As part of our Experience Architecture practice within Digital Technology Solutions, the Experience Designer role plays a key role in embedding human-centred design into the development and delivery of enterprise platforms and products. Reporting to the Experience Architecture Lead, this is an opportunity to influence how we design, deliver, and continuously improve digital experiences at scale.
In this role you will:
Support the Experience Architecture practice in a designops capacity, being responsible for maintaining practice processes and templates and providing design support during peak periods to ongoing digital projects.
Coordinate team ceremonies (Community of practice, retros, stand ups), with responsibility for managing action items and meeting outputs.
* Create design solutions for BAU requests and speculative work with responsibility for design activities and artifacts from discovery through to final designs.
* Support Experience Architecture’s strategic goals through advocating for user-centred thinking across DTS and contributing to uplifting design capability and literacy within the organisation.
* Develop strong, collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.
This full-time position is a permanent role at a HEW 7 Higher Education Worker level and is based at Callaghan.
About you
You will have:
* Degree in a relevant field (Design, Information Technology, Communications, or similar) with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Experience in user research, user-centred design methodologies, prototyping, and usability testing. Including proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Axure, Miro, FigJam or Mural.
* Understanding of delivering user-centric iterative products and services, translating strategy and user research insights into resolved digital solutions, working independently and cooperatively as an effective member of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working, including the ability to share design knowledge with non-design staff in a collaborative team environment to improve the design literacy of the business unit.
