* Fully understand and respond to client questions and evaluation criteria with tailored, relevant content

* Provide input and constructive challenge throughout answer planning and review stages

The role demands a proactive, adaptable, and agile individual who can operate effectively in high-pressure environments. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple proposals and competing deadlines with confidence. Success will be measured by the production of high-quality, compelling proposals that help the organisation stand out and meet client expectations.

This position allows for hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in a designated office (location and working pattern to be agreed with line management). Flexibility may be required to support priority bids, attend site visits, or participate in in-person meetings.

Additional responsibilities may include:

* Formal bid writing training (e.g. Shipley or equivalent)

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

* Proven experience in successful bid writing within a relevant infrastructure or construction environment

* Strong stakeholder management skills

* Experience using knowledge management or content libraries

Desirable:

* Professional proposals qualification (e.g. APMP)

* Awareness of industry practices, standards, and terminology in construction or related sectors

What's in it for you?

A range of employee benefits, including:

* Competitive holiday entitlement with the option to purchase additional days

* Flexible and hybrid working arrangements

* Family-friendly policies and support services

* Continuous professional development and mentoring

* Pension and annual bonus schemes

* Employee recognition and long-service awards

* Vehicle and health benefits (dependent on role)

* Participation in discount and wellness programmes (e.g., cycle to work, gym membership, employee assistance services)

About the Team:

The team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality engineering services across national and local road networks. Projects may include motorway enhancements, local authority schemes, and smart infrastructure solutions. The team collaborates closely with clients during all project phases, from early contractor involvement to final delivery, leveraging innovation and best practice to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
