Role: Freelance Project Manager - Street Lighting & Civils Location: M25 (GU23) Duration: Until the end of January 2026 Rate: £500 per day CIS Contract: Temporary, Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week plus weekend work Overview: We're seeking experienced Project Managers to support a major highways improvement scheme around M25 Junction 10, part of a large-scale infrastructure project. The role will primarily focus on street lighting and terminations, but with oversight across a wider civils and highways work package. The successful candidate will manage site teams, ensure safe and efficient delivery, and liaise closely with the principal contractor and stakeholders throughout the project. Responsibilities: Oversee the delivery of street lighting and termination works within a live highways environment Manage teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with programme, quality, and safety requirements Coordinate with the principal contractor, client representatives, and highways authorities Provide site leadership across wider civils/highways elements beyond the lighting scope Ensure all works are delivered in line with H&S, environmental, and traffic management standards Requirements: Proven experience managing street lighting, electrical, civils, or highways projects Strong understanding of street lighting terminations and associated electrical works Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills Comfortable working in a live highways environment and overseeing multiple workstreams Willingness to work weekends Essential Certifications: Black ECS or CSCS Card SMSTS HERS Card Highways Passport NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) G39 - Highway Electrical Safety EUSR Category 1 & 2 Safety Critical Medical Additional Info: Teams interview and an Induction with the principal contractor will be required prior to starting.
