Role Overview
Trading Executive
Working with the Trading manager, this role will drive activities to achieve sales, GPV, and EBIT targets for our Multichannel business (digital channels and in-store devices). You will collaborate with the Buying & Merchandising team to ensure appropriate planning of sales and the successful delivery of those plans. Additionally, you will create weekly trading summaries and daily progress updates.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review previous week’s performance and propose actions for improvement.
2. Monitor daily sales, identify areas of weakness, and implement strategies to increase sales and maintain optimal stock levels.
3. Track, report, and recommend solutions for slow-moving stock and low GP% items.
4. Suggest markdowns and promotional events aligned with brand strategy, tracking their performance and reporting outcomes.
5. Propose stories and approve products for mailers and site promotions.
6. Review store bestsellers to highlight top product lines.
7. Review merchandising rules to maximize product promotion and sales.
8. Utilize data analysis tools like Content Square to enhance conversion rates and identify areas for improvement.
9. Conduct regular performance reviews using tools like Similar Web.
10. Coordinate with Buying and Merchandising teams to optimize the online range throughout the season.
11. Analyze traffic and sales data to refine and improve merchandising strategies.
12. Report on key metrics such as availability %, weeks cover, stockholding, sell-through, margin, sales, and returns.
13. Establish and maintain relationships with divisional Buying & Merchandising teams.
14. Collaborate with Digital Marketing, Content, Social, and Copywriting teams to drive trading activities.
15. Implement best practices and identify opportunities and threats, working towards resolutions.
Skills and Experience
* Highly numerate with a strong commercial focus.
* Proficient in Excel; knowledge of SQL is a plus but not essential.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Highly organized with good prioritization and time management skills.
* Experience in a sports or fashion retail environment is advantageous.
