£16.50 per hour (umbrella)
Full-time, 37 hours per week
Reporting to the Principal Accountant (Schools), you’ll play a key role in ensuring effective delivery of Service Level Agreements, helping schools maximise resources, and maintaining strong financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and monitor annual budgets for Primary, Secondary, and Special schools
* Support year-end closure and production of final accounts
* Provide financial projections and advice to help schools manage resources effectively
* Conduct school visits, advising on budgets, interpreting reports, and resolving queries
* Maintain and reconcile the Financial Reporting System for County Primary schools
* Ensure compliance with VAT, Financial Regulations, and best practice guidance
* Assist with creditor payments, purchase orders, and accurate coding
* Collaborate with colleagues and provide additional financial support where required
About You:
* Background in finance, accountancy, or school finance support
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
* Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting practices
* Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities
