Mechanical O&M Engineer – Overview
Low Carbon Recruitment Ltd are working with one of the UK’s largest Energy Management companies with over 30 years experience maintaining District Heat Networks, Energy Centres and Commercial Plant Rooms throughout the UK. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical O&M Engineer who would be interested in developing their skillset in the District Heating sector to join the team in the Midlands.
This role is for their Midlands based team who cover sites such as Hospitals, Universities, Manufacturing sites and factories. They operate and maintain all the systems within their Energy Centres (plant rooms) which include everything from Boilers to Burners, Steam Plant, LTHW Systems, CHP units, Biomass, Heat Pumps, Pumps, Pressurisation units and all plumbing and pipework.
Day to day you will carry out servicing, maintenance, breakdown and fault finding works on all of the above systems, with the company giving you full training on any systems you haven’t worked on before. This is a mobile role an you will be travelling to mainly the ‘East Midlands’ sites which cover Corby, Thrapston, Northampton, Beford, Cambridge, Peterborough and similar areas. Occasionally, you will also travel to the sites in the West Midlands such as Coventry, Birmingham etc when needed, the company also offer travel pay as well as many other benefits. It is expected you will be trained in a relevant mechanical discipline, for example, be commercial gas qualified or experienced on Steam with your BOAS ticket or having worked in maintenance on plant rooms and energy centres. The company are quite open on skillset, as long as you’re willing to learn.

Mechanical O&M Engineer – Requirements
* Experience in plant room or energy centre environments
* Mechanically qualified with relevant tickets i.e. Com Gas, BOAS, NVQ Level 3 etc
* Experience with District Heating would be advantageous
* Full UK Driving Licence
Mechanical O&M Engineer – Salary & Remuneration
* Basic Salary £45,000 - £50,000
