SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire Salary: £75 - £90 per day Start Date: September 2024 Contract Type: Full-Time GSL Education are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work at a Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This is a mixed position that involves working with class teachers to ensure that lessons are delivered in accordance with students' individualized learning goals. SEN Teaching Assistants Responsibilities: Assist teachers with lesson planning, delivering lessons under the teacher's guidance, and helping students with their learning Provide dedicated support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom environment. Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring the well-being and engagement of students with SEN. Working with class teachers, other support staff and the senior leadership team to provide the best educational, emotional, and social support that you can. Be involved in assessing students' work and providing feedback. Assist with maintaining classroom discipline and supporting students with behavioural issues. Work with students with special educational and help them adapt to teaching methods and materials. SEN Teaching Assistants Requirements: Must hold the Right to Work in the UK. Have a Level 4 or higher qualification. You should have a relevant childcare or education-based qualification. Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH. Passion to working with young people to ensure barriers to learning are overcome. Confident in the delivery of pre-planned lessons and interventions. The ability to manage behaviour in-line with school policy. Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
