Key Responsibilities & Expectations
* Offer assessments and interventions to our patient group of older adults with mental health needs.
* Manage a caseload of patients with a variety of mental health conditions both functional and organic as well as supporting our duty and triage function.
* All new starters have a thorough induction process, both local and Trust wide, which aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.

Oxford Health works closely with the University of Oxford department of Psychiatry and the Department of Primary care, has a Biomedical Research Centre dedicated to improving mental health and the NIHR Clinical Research Facility at the Warneford site. The Trust also hosts the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) which carries out applied research that directly impacts patient health and wellbeing.
The MDT is made up of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology colleagues and we highly regard one another's professional background and contribution to the care of our patients. We view supervision as fundamental to the functioning of the team both clinically and in terms of the well being of our staff. You will need to be organised, flexible and committed to delivering the highest possible care to our client group. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good IT skills are essential.
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse (RMN)? Are you looking to work in a dedicated and supportive team? We are looking for two RMN to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based in the South of Oxfordshire. This will be one full time post and one part time posts with some flexible working considered at point of request. We are a friendly, supportive and proactive team with a culture of high standards of care and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. The team works closely with a wide range of internal and external partner's including GPs, district nursing, therapy services, ambulatory care, social care and physical and mental health inpatient providers. We aim to deliver well-coordinated patient care and to share our respective skills and knowledge with one another.
Our team covers a wide geographical area bordering Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire and so is ideally placed for staff commuting from Swindon, Reading and Aylesbury. Our main office is in Abingdon, but we have a base in Wallingford and hot desking space for staff covering those areas. Ideally you will have experience of working in older adult mental health services and understand the challenges that working with this group brings. However, if you have transferable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group we would encourage you to apply.
