Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a highly regarded secondary school in Selsey, Chichester. This full-time position is ideal for individuals looking to build valuable classroom experience or explore a future career in teaching.
About the Role
In this role, you will supervise classes of students aged 11–16 during teacher absences, ensuring lessons run smoothly and learning continues as planned. You’ll deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and maintain a positive, focused environment. The position also includes occasional support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and oversee pre-set lessons across a range of subjects for students aged 11–16.
* Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school’s policies and expectations.
* Keep students engaged and on task throughout the day.
* Provide targeted support to SEN pupils where required.
* Give feedback to teaching staff regarding student behaviour and engagement.
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable, particularly with SEN exposure.
* Confident classroom presence and the ability to adapt to different teaching environments.
* Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport with students.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people and contributing to their educational success.
