We’re working with a forward-thinking, resident-focused social housing organisation looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to help raise standards, and shape safer homes across the portfolio.
Chartership (MRICS) is welcome but not essential – what matters most is your experience, professional credibility, and strong technical foundation. Applications from MCIOB professionals and those with a degree in Building Surveying or Construction, HND or HNC on Building surveying, or a construction management related are actively encouraged.
The role
This is trusted position. You’ll take ownership, providing clear technical knowledge and practical solutions, overseeing damp and mold and disrepair.
You’ll be:
* Taking inspections, diagnosing building defects and disrepair, and specifying robust, value-for-money remedial works
* Reviewing, approving and overseeing Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) works to ensure accessibility and quality outcomes
* Working closely with, asset management, repairs teams
What we’re looking for
* A degree in Building Surveying, Construction or a related discipline is ideal but not essential
* HNC and HND in Surveying or construction related discipline
* Experience within social housing, local authority or a related property environment
* understanding of building pathology, disrepair, H&S and CDM regs
* Confidence dealing with residents, contractors, legal teams and internal stakeholders
* Full UK driving licence (regional travel required)
