Dermatology Team Leader / Cancer Navigator

The post holder will manage the delivery of a high‑quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service to patients. They will be responsible for ensuring that all administrative processes are efficient and effective, enabling the team and the Trust to meet high standards of performance. They will line‑manage a team of administrators and be responsible for organising workload and cover, recruiting and inducting new staff, identifying the training and support required by individuals, and managing performance. Key responsibilities also include ensuring timely access to care for urgent patients, working with MDT coordinators and the admin team, and managing patient tracking lists to deliver high performance and patient care.
They must possess excellent communication skills, work with deadlines and possess accurate keyboard skills. They are expected to provide day‑to‑day cross‑site operational management for the Dermatology administration team, including recruitment, appraisals and continuous professional development for all admin staff. They should provide cross‑cover when required to ensure a flexible and proactive approach and cover colleagues during periods of sickness and leave. They are responsible for supporting the delivery of cancer waiting times standards for dermatology, focusing on achieving and maintaining the cancer targets, and liaising with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate improvements in quality of care.
