What will you be doing as our new Site Civil Supervisor?
As a Site Civil Supervisor, you'll oversee the safe and efficient delivery of civil works across our water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with Site and Construction Managers, you'll manage direct labour and subcontractors on site, ensuring all activities meet safety, quality, and environmental standards. You'll play a key role in planning, supervising, and driving progress, while promoting best practice and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of site operatives and subcontractors
Ensure compliance with @one requirements, statutory regulations, and approved method statements
Carry out site inspections, toolbox talks, and pre-start briefings to embed a strong safety culture
Monitor temporary works, plant checks, permits, and ensure all works are delivered safely and compliantly
Lead by example on site, actively promoting near-miss reporting and good housekeeping standards
Drive quality by ensuring inspection and test plans are followed and works are "right first time
Track and report daily progress, resolving any issues that could affect delivery or budget
Order, coordinate, and manage construction plant and materials efficiently
Support and mentor site teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional growth
Build strong relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, customers, and the public, always maintaining respect and professionalism
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours.
We're seeking a proactive and experienced Site Civil Supervisor who can lead from the front. You will ideally have:
A CSCS Supervisor card and proven supervisory experience in civil construction works
CITB SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid qualifications
CPCS Lift Supervisor and Temporary Works Supervisor accreditations (desirable)
NRSWA Supervisor and HSG47 training in underground service avoidance
Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate site teams and subcontractors
A practical, problem-solving approach with strong organisational and planning skills
IT literacy and an openness to adopting new technologies and digital tools
A track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and to a high standard within the construction or water sector
