Maldon District Council is seeking a professional to join our busy and dynamic Planning Department within the Enforcement Service on a permanent, full-time basis.
The ideal candidate should have some knowledge of Town Planning legislation, practical experience with site inspections—including note-taking, photography, and customer interactions.

This role supports our positive hybrid working approach, offering opportunities to work remotely and from the office. It also involves site visits around the Maldon District, including visits to attractive local areas.
About this role
1. Conduct site visits for planning enforcement cases, taking detailed notes and photographs, and uploading them into the Council's management systems.
2. Understand permitted development rights.
3. Perform site visits for S106 legal clause discharge and housing development monitoring, reporting findings to the Planning Policy Section.
4. Collaborate with Enforcement Team officers, assisting with complex site visits.
5. Assist with basic customer correspondence regarding sites that do not require planning permission after site inspection.
