We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker - Homeless 16/17 Team within the Social Care industry in Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities
* To undertake structured assessments and provide intensive support to children and young people identified as having additional and complex needs and who are deemed vulnerable and at risk of homelessness.
* To work in partnership with a wide range of key organisations and individuals including housing and local services to ensure young people receive appropriate and effective services, in line with the Joint Housing Protocol (JHP).
* To work flexibly across the County to meet the needs of young people.
* To maintain accurate, comprehensive case management information using a specified electronic database and complying with deadlines and statutory standards and requirements.
* To manage and be accountable with supervision and support for your own social work practice.
Team
Small team covering all of Herts supporting 16/17 year old Homeless – providing them emergency accommodation whilst assessments are carried out and plans are arranged. Ideally, some knowledge in housing legislation (not essential) along with contextual safeguarding. The team works in support of Charity Hearts Young Homeless and collaborates with the CIN and SASH on support.
Minimum Requirements
* Relevant approved social work degree.
* A professionally qualified, registered social worker adhering to the Social Work England standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and local practice relating to children and young people.
* Understanding of multi‑disciplinary or partnership working and impact on delivery of services to families.
* Working hours: Mon – Thurs 9am – 5:30pm, Fri 9am – 4:30pm (37 hours in total).
* Hybrid – 1 day minimum in the office (candidate’s choice); most of the work will be travelling around the county.
