Responsibilities About the role As a Casual Child and Family Support Worker, you will play a key role supporting children who are: in care in need or at risk of harm Working as part of a multi‑agency, whole‑family team, you will help families stabilise, reduce risk and build safer routines. This is a frontline, relationship‑based role that requires confidence, flexibility and the ability to engage positively with families, even in challenging situations. Your work will include: Providing practical and emotional support to parents and carers, keeping children at the centre of all decision‑making Working directly with families in their homes and community settings, including: practical home support and cleaning completing forms and paperwork attending and arranging appointments shopping, cooking and day‑to‑day problem solving Supporting children and young people to access positive activities in the community, helping reduce pressure on families and anti‑social behaviour Delivering safe and structured supervised family time, maintaining clear boundaries and expectations Undertaking welfare visits, including evenings, weekends and out‑of‑hours where required Writing clear, factual case notes and reports following each intervention Identifying concerns and raising safeguarding issues immediately in line with procedures Giving clear advice, guidance and signposting around child development and parenting, using evidence‑based approaches This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two shifts are the same – and where your input can have an immediate and visible impact. Qualifications About you We welcome applications from people with a variety of backgrounds, including community work, youth work, care, education, mentoring, sports coaching or similar frontline roles.
