Commercial / Finance Analyst – Job Opportunity
The Hawthorn One is exclusively partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed business to recruit a Commercial / Finance Analyst. This is an exciting job opportunity in a newly created role, offering the chance to shape reporting, provide clarity across business data, and support strategic decision-making during a period of significant growth and transformation. The business is led by a high-calibre leadership team and has a robust pipeline of new contracts, set to drive revenues to in excess of c£60m. This job will allow you to leverage data to optimise performance, inform commercial strategy, and deliver actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
The Job Opportunity
As part of a cross-functional team, you will work closely with Finance, Commercial, and Operations to analyse complex datasets, develop reporting tools, and support the implementation of new systems. This job is ideal for someone looking to make a tangible impact in a growing, data-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets across finance, commercial, and operational functions to identify trends and opportunities.
* Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to provide clear insights for management and stakeholders.
* Support the building of financial and commercial models to forecast revenue, profitability, and assess business scenarios.
* Analyse project and operational performance, aged WIP, and financial data.
* Conduct pricing analysis, profitability studies, and scenario modelling to inform strategic decisions.
* Provide actionable insights to drive revenue growth, cost optimisation, and overall commercial performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven strategies align with business objectives.
* Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements or automation solutions.
* Prepare and present data-driven reports and presentations to senior stakeholders.
* Contribute to ongoing process improvements and systems development initiatives.
About You
* Strong Excel skills including lookups, pivots, data cleansing & modelling.
* Experience creating dashboards and reporting with tools such as Power BI.
* Background in finance, commercial analysis, or a data-driven business role.
* Experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple projects.
* Exposure to systems projects or ERP implementation is advantageous.
* Analytical, detail-focused, and proactive in finding solutions.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain insights to non-technical stakeholders.
