Group Ethical Compliance & Auditing Manager

(Hull, HU13)

About the role

As our business continues to grow and operate across a complex and highly regulated environment, we are enhancing our Group HR capability with the addition of a Group Ethical Compliance and Auditing Manager. Reporting to the Group HR Director, this role focuses on driving consistency, clarity and best practice across our employment and compliance frameworks, ensuring they continue to develop in line with the scale and nature of our business.

Working closely with site HR teams and external partners, you’ll act as a trusted centre of expertise for ethical and regulatory compliance, supporting sites with insight, guidance and effective oversight while helping shape and refine the standards and processes that underpin responsible employment across the Group.

About Cranswick

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer, employing thousands of people across a broad network of sites and supplying many of the country’s best‑known retail and food service customers. Operating at scale within a highly regulated, people‑intensive industry, the business has grown significantly in recent years through continued investment and expansion. This scale and diversity create exciting opportunities to further develop Group capability, drive consistency and support the business as it continues to grow in a responsible and sustainable way.

What you’ll do

* Act as the Group lead for ethical and immigration compliance, ensuring clear, consistent and well‑governed processes across all sites
* Manage sponsorship and Right to Work activity end‑to‑end, including monitoring, reporting and maintaining accurate records in line with regulatory requirements
* Own and maintain core systems and data relating to sponsored workers, ensuring information is complete, up to date and audit‑ready
* Coordinate all external reporting and submissions, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners
* Provide expert guidance and practical support to site HR teams, acting as a trusted point of contact for queries and advice
* Lead regular audits and checks to ensure roles, pay, documentation and site allocations remain aligned and compliant
* Oversee renewals, starters, leavers and contractual changes, ensuring activity is planned, timely and well‑controlled
* Support capability building across HR by delivering guidance and training on compliance requirements and best practice

What we’re looking for

* Experience in a HR, compliance, governance or audit‑based role, with the confidence to operate independently and take ownership
* A strong understanding of regulated working environments, with the ability to interpret requirements and apply them consistently in practice
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with site teams, senior stakeholders and external partners
* A highly organised, detail‑focused professional who is comfortable working with complex data, systems and processes
* A methodical and proactive approach, with the ability to plan ahead, manage deadlines and maintain accurate, well‑controlled records
* Confidence using HR systems and digital platforms, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to provide clear guidance and constructive support, helping others understand and work within established frameworks
* A collaborative mindset, balanced with the confidence to provide challenge where needed

What We Offer:

* Competitive Salary: Discussed at application stage.
* Car Allowance
* Share Save Scheme: Access to purchase shares at a discounted rate.
* Pension Scheme: Enhanced contribution options.
* Holiday Entitlement: Generous allowance with the option to purchase additional days.
* Employee Discounts: Discounts at major high street stores and supermarkets through our company portal.
