Head of Costing
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for the role of Head of Costing.
Responsibilities
The post holder will lead the Trust’s costing function, oversee the Patient Level Costing programme (PLICS) and take the lead on monthly Service Line Reporting (SLR).
The post holder will oversee the annual National Cost Collection following national timelines and guidance.
Expand the costing function to support a programme focused on developing robust costing models and project financials, utilising data‑driven insights to inform decision‑making and support a sustainable financial recovery pipeline.
Proactively lead the development and embedding of monthly SLR and internal trading to support the Trust’s ongoing strategic agenda, ensuring they remain fit for purpose through continuous refinement.
Lead the development of the PLICS model as a key source of detailed financial information, underpinning the Trust’s future strategic direction.
Oversee the successful submission of the yearly National Cost Collection (NCC), complying with national guidance and continuously improving data quality and accuracy.
Lead the participation and analysis of cost benchmarking data, identifying potential savings to underpin the Trust’s CIP programme using tools such as the NHS England PLICS Portal and the National Cost Collection cost index.
Play a leading role in a joint programme focused on developing robust costing models and project financials, utilising data‑driven insights to inform decision‑making and support a sustainable financial recovery pipeline.
Serve as an expert resource within the Trust for all issues pertaining to NHS Costing guidance.
Provide outstanding care for every patient; patient care is at the heart of what the Trust does at its three sites – Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
Additional Information
The role is hybrid, splitting time between home and the Basingstoke finance office. Happy to discuss further during interview or at the offer stage.
