Reminiscence Learning is a regional and national multi award winning registered charity (registered charity number 1105488) based in Wellington Somerset specialising in dementia care, activity and reminiscence. The charity has been successful with The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund to promote dementia awareness in the community. The Community Engagement Coordinator will have a key role in driving forward the Reminiscence Learning brand name with businesses and organizations local to the South West promoting the dementia inclusive community initiative.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Seek out, develop and maintain effective working relationships within the local community to promote the work of Reminiscence Learning and facilitate the Dementia Inclusive Community Project
* Actively promote the Archie Project within schools and care settings both with in the South West and nationally online.
* Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard with due regard for timescales, targets and budgets
* Be proactive in establishing networks and effective communication channels by attending trade shows, local council meetings, Rotary meetings, chamber events and local One Team meetings
* Book and attend meetings with local groups to advertise the Charity’s services and training options
* Liaise with local radio to arrange interviews to discuss the Charity’s finance and ongoing sponsorship needs and promote local events.
* Through effective networking, face to face and online meetings arrange sponsorship for upcoming events.
* Establish clear lines of communication with the Business Manager and Administration team to enable full diary management, preparation for meetings and post visit reporting.
* Liaise with the Statistics team to enable compilation of service provision both before and after networking and delivery of projects covering care, education and diversity.
* Working with the Project Manager, Business Manager and Statistics Team take a lead role in the production, maintenance and reviewing of the project plan.
* Produce project updates for the Board meetings
* Establish links with local families/community in order to sign post available services and support.
* Maintain the highest level of professionalism in the handling of any confidential data, information and disclosure from individuals, organisations and services.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and qualifications
· Ability to establish and maintain business networks.
· Experience in project development preferably social/educational activities
· Data protection and confidentiality
· Sound knowledge of all aspects of dementia
· Knowledge of quality assurance process
· Knowledge of the voluntary sector
· Knowledge of project methodologies e.g. DECODER, Prince 2
