Your Role
The Manager/Sr Manager, Deal Structuring & Valuation will be a key contributor to the Deals Office team, supporting the financial analysis, modeling, and structuring of strategic deals across recorded music and music publishing. This role is crucial in ensuring that deal proposals are financially sound, align with our strategic objectives, and contribute to long‑term growth and shareholder value. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a foundational understanding of the music and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
* Prepare comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses (e.g., DCF, IRR, payback period) for potential deals and present the valuation range and basis for catalog acquisitions.
* Support the structuring of deal terms and economic frameworks in collaboration with business, legal, and creative teams.
* Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform deal assumptions and valuation benchmarks.
* Prepare detailed presentations and reports for operators and deal committee reviews, summarizing financial projections and key deal terms.
* Support the Reporting team and Radar system to ensure company‑wide adoption, data integrity and completeness.
* Pro‑actively develop financial models using AI to enable company‑wide automated deal modelling.
* Perform periodic post‑investment reviews and analysis, preparing summaries of findings and portfolio analysis.
Qualifications
* 5–7 years of experience in finance, investment banking, corporate development, or a related analytical role, preferably within the music, entertainment, or media industries.
* Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and data analysis including using AI to automate financial modelling and data processing.
* Strong understanding of P‑L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
* High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
* Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
* Knowledge of the music/media industry is strong plus.
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
