Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and ensuring smooth travel experiences? Chiltern Railways is looking for a dedicated Sales Station Host to join our team and provide exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ticket Sales: Handle the sale of all Chiltern Railways and National Rail products and services using all available ticket issuing systems.
* Customer Service: Maintain consistently high standards of proactive and reactive customer care both inside and outside the booking office, ensuring high visibility at all times.
* Ticket Gate Management: Where applicable, manage and operate ticket gates effectively.
* Announcements: Enhance customer communication by supplementing the automated announcing system with live local announcements to keep customers informed of any train running alterations.
* Car Park Point of Contact: Serve as the point of contact for car park issues in the absence of an attendant or nominated security, where applicable.
* Compliance: Adhere to Booking Office Accountancy Procedures, Cash Regulations, and Office Security procedures.
* Shift Balance: Perform all duties required to achieve a shift balance, incorporating all necessary documentation as instructed.
What we are looking for:
* Previous customer service experience
* Previous cash handling experience
* Computer literate with necessary keyboard skills
* A good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
* Honest & trustworthy
* To remain calm, confident and professional at all times even whilst under pressure
* Ability to make professional decisions on behalf of the business
* Attitude and aptitude to understand and operate on-site equipment
* Ability to work as a team as well as perform tasks alone
* Excellent communication both verbal and written skills
* Ability to deal with conflict situations
* Smart and presentable appearance
* Happy to work a shift pattern
