We are looking for a Design Engineer that has experience with the Automotive sector, as the role would require the successful applicant to work on the design and development of custom vehicle bodies. This is a varied role which would include creating CAD drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations as well as generating a parts and materials list for customers to support both the sales quoting and the manufacturing processes.
Key duties associated with the Vehicle Design Engineer opportunity:
* Create detailed CAD drawings for Vehicle bodies to support the sales quoting process.
* Utilise the CAD engineering drawings to build a parts and materials list to enhance the quoting process.
* Create product Bill of Materials and structure the build in a parent/child format.
* Manage parts on the ERP/MRP database.
* Develop engineering drawings and technical specifications for production, to minimize manufacturing downtime once the customer quote has been approved.
* Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand requirements and constraints.
* Ensure all meet relevant regulations and are compliant.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
* Assist in product development and innovation.
* Conduct project reviews, stress analysis, and material selection assessments.
