About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced and creative producer/editor to produce, edit, and publish our live markets program from London. This role combines a strong editorial sensibility with technical expertise, digital storytelling, and the ability to maximize the reach of our content through SEO and social platforms.
You'll have a key role in shaping the voice of Yahoo Finance, creating high-impact live content while repurposing moments into bite-sized social videos, site clips, and YouTube uploads. This is your chance to join an innovative team revolutionizing how financial news is told and shared.
Key Responsibilities:
Live Production:
* This person leads all aspects of producing live elements of a U.S.-focused program from London, from pitching story ideas to scripting, segment planning, and live control room operations.
* Maintain editorial focus, ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging financial news coverage.
Editorial Excellence:
* Bring a strong editorial background to develop compelling narratives for financial stories.
* Collaborate with anchors and reporters to deliver cohesive and impactful programming.
Digital Optimization:
* Clip and edit standout live show moments for social media platforms, YouTube, and the Yahoo Finance app and site.
* Leverage SEO best practices to optimize video metadata, ensuring maximum reach and discoverability.
Content Strategy:
* Identify opportunities to elevate content through innovative visuals, dynamic storytelling, and real-time engagement.
* Stay ahead of trends, consistently integrating fresh ideas to captivate a global audience.
Team Collaboration:
* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team across editorial, social, and production to maintain a seamless workflow.

Qualifications & Experience:
* 5+ years in live news production, preferably in financial news or business journalism.
* Proven ability to produce and edit high-quality live content under tight deadlines.
Editorial Expertise:
* Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills, with a passion for financial markets, economic trends, and breaking news.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software, iconik, pronology, brightcove, tools-on-air, cloud post-production workflows and live production workflows.
* Experience with social media platforms and video clipping tools to create social-first content.
Digital Acumen:
* Deep understanding of SEO strategies for video and how to optimize content for YouTube and other digital platforms.
