Systems Engineer - Aerospace
Location: Cheltenham (3 - 4 days onsite per-week)
Duration: 3 months initially

Our client, a reputable organisation specialising in advanced engineering solutions, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team in Cheltenham. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge projects across various disciplines, from requirements capture to testing and certification.
What you'll be doing:
* Collaborate across functional teams to support the entire systems design lifecycle.
* Decompose complex requirements to develop effective product development and qualification strategies.
* Author and review qualification test plans and procedures, ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
* Conduct change impact assessments for low‑level software, firmware, and hardware modifications.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives such as problem‑solving reports, Kaizen, and 5S.
* Communicate progress clearly through technical reports, presentations, and analyses.
* Engage with suppliers to derive characteristics and inform requirements.
* Participate in certification activities and design reviews as needed.
What you'll bring:
* Experience in systems design within aviation, automotive, or similar embedded systems environments, with familiarity of industry standards like ARP4754A and DO160G.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
* Knowledge of verification strategies, test equipment, and test infrastructure—whether scripting automated tests or creating manual procedures.
* A multi‑disciplinary mindset, capable of switching between electrical, optical, software, and firmware testing.
* Proficiency in technical reporting, presentation, and collaboration.
Qualifications / Requirements:
* Proven experience supporting systems development in regulated environments.
* Familiarity with industry standards and certification processes.
* Ability to adapt to varied technical areas and work independently to high standards.
