Job Description
A small one-form entry primary school in Ormskirk is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take responsibility for a Year 4 class within a supportive and close-knit school community. The school prides itself on high academic standards and a strong culture of achievement. Pupils are motivated, well-supported at home, and respond positively to challenge.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are strongly encouraged to apply, and the school is committed to fully supporting ECT induction and mentoring.
The Role
• Full classroom responsibility for a Year 4 class
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum
• Provide high-quality challenge to ensure pupils, particularly those capable of greater depth, achieve their full potential
• Use assessment effectively to stretch and support pupils academically
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (Year 4 experience desirable)
• ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations
• Ability to challenge pupils and support high levels of academic achievement
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
