20th May, 2026 DOMESTIC ABUSE COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER Location: Ystradgynlais Duration: Permanent Start: June 2026 Work Pattern : Monday - Friday (35 hours per week) Salary: £25,000 per annum Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in the community? If so BRC are recruiting for a Community Support Worker to join an incredible team in Ystradgynlais. This is rewarding role involves providing practical and emotional support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, helping them improve safety, access services, and move towards recovery and independence. Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to: Support women across the locality, thereby enabling these women to avoid crisis situations and/or a stay in refuge accommodation. Delivering practical and compassionate support. Undertaking assessments of need and risk assessments. Working as part of a team and liaising with colleagues to provide a well-rounded support network. Ensuring measures are taken to prevent tenancy breakdown. Encouraging families to create and maintain a community support network. Collaborating with external agencies such as healthcare professionals, police and social services. To be successful in this community support worker position you will need to have previous experience working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence. You will be a collaborative individual able to work as part of a wider team. We are looking for a compassionate candidate who is able to build strong relationships whilst also maintaining the ability to work well under pressure.
