Lab Technician Environmental Sciences I am working with a forward-thinking organisation within the environmental and renewable energy sector to recruit a Lab Technician based in Guildford. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a scientific background and hands-on laboratory experience to support the operation of an in-house laboratory, carry out sample analysis, and contribute to high-quality environmental research and reporting. A full UK driving licence is required due to occasional travel to operational sites. The Role As Lab Technician, you will support the day-to-day running of the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely sample analysis while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. You’ll work closely with the Lab Manager and collaborate with site teams, playing a key role in ensuring reliable laboratory data that supports wider operational decision-making. This role would suit someone with strong attention to detail, a methodical approach to work, and a genuine interest in environmental science. Key Responsibilities Assist with the efficient and safe operation of the laboratory Conduct laboratory analyses in line with established procedures and SOPs Log samples and maintain accurate laboratory records and databases Ensure results are recorded, checked, and reported within agreed timeframes Maintain, calibrate, and perform routine checks on laboratory equipment Support stock control of laboratory consumables Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant lab environment Travel to operational sites during harvest periods to collect samples Communicate findings and escalate any issues to the Lab Manager About You A-levels in a science-related discipline (or equivalent) A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related subject Laboratory experience gained during studies (industry experience advantageous) Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Confident written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team Willingness to travel within the UK when required Full UK driving licence (essential) We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment.
