Are you a skilled Service Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of plant and equipment within a thriving Services Department? Key Accountabilities: Maintain and repair a wide range of machinery and equipment, including gas boilers, steam autoclaves and lines, lifts, waste effluent plant, compressed air systems, domestic water systems, and cooling towers. Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and preventative maintenance, proactively identifying key equipment requiring attention. Participate in projects assigned by the Engineering Department, showcasing your expertise and contributing to ongoing improvements. Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring efficient and effective resolution. Foster strong collaboration with the engineering team and establish excellent communication and feedback channels with the production department. Champion a safety culture within the factory, adhering to health and safety requirements, safe systems of work, and relevant legislation. Candidate Attributes: Time served in a factory services environment or relevant workplace experience. Strong fault finding and testing skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. BOAS or equivalent training in boiler operations, with experience working with steam boilers. Familiarity with boiler water treatment and water softening plant is desirable. Experience in preparing for non-destructive testing (NDT) of pressure vessels. Knowledge of steam supplies and ancillary equipment, including pipe fitting skills. Experience in working with compressed air supplies and ancillary equipment, including pipe fitting skills. Plumbing skills aligned with maintenance duties and control of Legionella. Desirable experience with traction and hydraulic lifts. Capability to use workshop machines is advantageous. Possession of an electrical qualification such as NVQ2 or 18th Edition certification. Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Friday: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm Package: Competitive salary of up to £32,000, depending on experience.
