Overview of role:
This role involves the installation, service, and support of Rapiscan X-RAY screening systems, primarily supporting all X-ray, CT, Checkpoint, and Trace product lines at customer sites.
Key responsibilities include:
* Installing, commissioning, and servicing Rapiscan’s X-ray, CT, Checkpoint, and Trace systems at customer locations in the UK, primarily in Scotland & Newcastle, with potential international assignments.
* Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on-site.
* Conducting site surveys prior to installation and preparing professional site reports.
* Responding to service call-outs and attending to all maintenance tasks.
* Working on shift patterns to support key customer sites.
* Providing remote technical support to distributors and customers.
* Collaborating with internal teams and external partners on service issues and guidance.
* Submitting timely service and non-conformance reports.
* Providing feedback to engineering and management teams for continuous improvement.
Candidate requirements:
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly.
* Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based servers and workstations is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of high-end X-ray systems or computed tomography is a significant advantage.
* Programming PLCs experience is advantageous.
* Strong troubleshooting skills for complex systems.
* Previous field service engineering experience.
* Flexibility to adapt to project changes and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
* Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and quick to learn.
* Ability to obtain airport security passes, including background checks.
* Postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
* IT qualifications (Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
* General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, hydraulic, electronic, or electro-mechanical systems, or HV systems in medical or industrial engineering.
