Job Title: Theatre Practitioner Anaesthetics – ODP/RGN (Permanent)
Location: Cromwell Hospital, London (SW5 0TU). Full time, 37.5 hours per week with a shift pattern Monday to Saturday and various weekend shift enhancements. Salary: £37,080 to £46,890 per annum, plus benefits.
Job Summary
As an Anaesthetic Nurse/ODP you will support surgeons across a range of specialties, assist with anaesthesia delivery, prepare patients, ensure infection control, and manage the clinical area when advanced practitioners are absent.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist consultants during all surgical procedures (local, regional, sedation, general anaesthesia).
* Position and prepare patients as directed by the surgical team and accurately label specimens.
* Prepare patients for operative procedures and provide immediate post‑operative care.
* Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring safety of patients, visitors and staff.
* Participate fully as a team member in all theatres, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues to promote teamwork.
* Control cross‑infection by observing departmental policy on dress, cleaning, decontamination, sterilisation and asepsis.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant ODP / Anaesthetic Nurse qualification (HCPC / ADULT RGN).
* Post‑registration experience within Anaesthetics.
* Minimum of 2 years recent UK experience in Anaesthetics.
* Ability to deliver high standards of care.
