We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to support the Prison Pharmacy service at HMP Fosse Way. The role involves providing expert clinical advice, delivering a safe and high‑quality pharmacy service, and leading pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly‑pharmacy in line with expected standards, ensuring safe medicines management and optimisation.
* Deliver an integrated, safe, legal and high quality prison pharmacy service as part of a comprehensive healthcare package.
* Inspire positive and aspirational leadership to pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team to create a good working environment and facilitate staff retention.
* Promote good practice in all prescribing decisions and develop improved medicines management across the team.
* Share information about pharmaceutical products, medicines management, optimisation, legislation and general health education with patients and healthcare teams.
Qualifications
* GPhC registered Pharmacist.
* Available to newly qualified pharmacists and beyond.
* Management and leadership experience (desirable).
* Procurement and audit experience (desirable).
* Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre‑registration training.
* Excellent communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a secure environment.
Bank Hours & Rate
* Bank Hours: Monday – Sunday; 07:00–18:00 (Mon‑Fri); 07:30–18:30 (Weekends).
* Bank Hourly Rate: Weekdays £36.00; Weekends £38.00; Bank Holidays £45.60.
