NHS Doncaster Talking Therapies (core) is a well-established, high performing, friendly service looking to recruit a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) who is dedicated and passionate about providing high quality evidence-based psychological therapy to people with common mental health problems.
The post-holder must have completed either a Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) PWP course and have experience of working in a Primary Care setting, preferably a Talking Therapies service, and must hold or be working towards the relevant registration with the BABCP or BPS.
Responsibilities
* Deliver evidence-based low intensity psychological interventions to patients with common mental health problems in accordance with NICE guidelines and the Talking Therapies manual stepped care model.
* Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and develop programmes of care packages.
* Assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self‑management of their recovery.
* Undertake patient‑centred assessments which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and/or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
* Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the service referral protocols, refer unsuitable clients to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary, or use clinical judgement to determine whether treatment is required at intensity psychological therapy.
* Engage in regular clinical and case management supervision, clinical skills sessions and deliver group therapy.
Qualifications
* Completed a Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) PWP course.
* Experience working in a Primary Care setting, preferably a Talking Therapies service.
* Holding or working towards registration with the BABCP or BPS.
Applicants must be able to work from the office base and travel to various venues across the locality; remote work is available a few days a week.
