A vacancy has arisen within the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, for a Consultant Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist.
Working alongside other Consultants, this post holder will provide clinical leadership, hold delegated responsibility for the governance of psychological therapies within the service, and provide clinical expertise in delivering and supervising therapies for Complex Trauma.
We are looking for an enthusiastic professional who works well in teams and who will provide a specialised psychology service to clients of the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, and the systems and services supporting them.
The post holder is required to provide highly specialist psychological assessment, therapy and supervision, as well as offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures, across all sectors of care. Thus, the post holder will demonstrate leadership, managerial, professional and clinical skills to meet the competing demands of a highly specialised service. The post holder will also utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Trauma Service.
We look forward to receiving enquiries about this post from HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists who have post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
