Role / Description
SRG are working with a well-established waste management and environmental services company. They invest heavily in their team, offering robust training and development opportunities to support long‑term growth and success. We are looking for an experienced Technical Assessor/Senior Technical Assessor. The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance, safety and classification of waste following relevant regulatory guidelines. 1+ years experience as a technical assessor or site chemist in the waste industry.
Responsibilities
* Conduct technical assessments of waste management operations to ensure compliance with environmental and industry regulations.
* Qualify and classify chemicals, report and analyse waste streams to determine on‑site treatment and transfers.
* Identify and assign cost‑effective treatment and processing routes.
* Evaluate applications for permits, accreditations or certifications related to waste processing, recycling and disposal.
* Provide expert advice on waste classification, handling, treatment and disposal methods.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients and internal teams to ensure consistent interpretation of waste legislation and best practices.
* Analyse information to determine waste transportation methods (ADR/IMDG regs).
* Work alongside the technical team, management, sales and chemists to facilitate smooth running of inbound and outbound waste streams.
* Provide technical advice, support and guidance internally and externally.
Requirements
* Minimum HNC or relevant degree in Chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science or similar with significant chemistry content.
* Recent experience working as a technical assessor or a site chemist in the waste industry.
* DGSA, IOSH and IMDG preferred.
* Knowledge and understanding of ADR, WM3 and other waste regulations.
