Overview
This Clinical Oncology Consultant post will be based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). The appointee will work with site-specific local and specialist MDTs for Breast cancers at the UHCW and South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWUFT). The typical new patient caseload is expected to be around 5 per week, and up to 210 per annum based on 42 working weeks of routine work (excluding leave and on-call). The appointee would also contribute to the On Call rota (currently 1 in 18).
The role is supported by a dedicated CNS team. You will be expected to support the Acute Oncology Service and the Oncology ward in-patient care as necessary on working days. Patients will be treated in the Arden Cancer Centre on the UH site, the Maple unit at St Cross Hospital Rugby, the Rigby Unit at Stratford, and the Aylesford Unit at SWUFT. This is a part replacement and succession planning post for the breast team due to retirement and cross-cover at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust for Breast cancer.
