About the role: Animal Management Teacher
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a teacher to join our Animal Management team at Banbury Campus. In this role, you will deliver education and training to students primarily in BTEC Animal Management courses. Your responsibilities will include ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, with focus on the business element of animal management, safe working practices, study skills, welfare, and ethics, contributing to raising standards in line with the College's Corporate Aims and Strategic Objectives.
This is a permanent, part-time role working up to 29.5 hours per week (0.80 FTE) based at our Banbury College.
Responsibilities
* Deliver education and training to students primarily in BTEC Animal Management courses, with a focus on high-quality teaching and learning.
* Promote safe working practices, study skills, welfare, and ethics in line with the College’s standards.
* Contribute to raising standards in line with the College's Corporate Aims and Strategic Objectives.
* Act as a role model for students, helping them gain professional qualifications and attributes for progression in the world of work.
* Engage with students at all levels to maximise their strengths and support learners with special educational needs.
* Collaborate within a supportive team and participate in career development opportunities.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Enthusiastic and motivated; able to engage with students and develop their potential.
* Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area such as Animal Management, Care or Science.
* Have a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
* Experience of working in the animal/agriculture industry.
* Experience in a Further Education setting is desirable but not required.
You should also be capable of engaging with students at all levels to maximise their strengths and prepared for success, with experience in working with and teaching students with special educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisational abilities, and the ability to prioritise workloads are essential in a varied role with opportunities for career development.
