Overview

Casa Brighouse is a stunning restaurant, wine bar, hotel rooms and event venue. Our restaurant looks out on to the Cromwell Nature Reserve and can seat over 90 people in the restaurant, with additional dining space in the wine bar and a large outdoor terrace. Our function room can cater up to 300 people and we hold all types of events including weddings and functions. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff training, and maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.

We are looking for somebody with a solid catering history and somebody that can take on the responsibility of mentoring the kitchen team. Casa belongs to a local hospitality group and involvement will be required with senior management with regular meetings and communication. We will require references and applicants will be fully vetted.

Responsibilities

* Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
* Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
* Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and minimising waste to optimise kitchen efficiency.
* Train and mentor kitchen personnel in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
* Monitor kitchen performance, making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency and quality.

Experience

* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role within a restaurant environment.
* Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food production processes.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding dining experiences.
