Let’s grow together … Job Purpose You will play a key role in supporting the bank’s first line of defence against Financial Crime and Fraud. Your primary focus will be to ensure Paragon maintains robust detection and prevention capabilities, while providing expert support across multiple areas of the organisation. As a subject matter expert, you’ll act as a key point of contact for the Financial Crime teams, offering specialist advice to internal stakeholders and helping to identify and assess fraud risks, best practices, emerging products, and major change initiatives. In addition to your deep understanding of Financial Crime and Fraud risks, you’ll bring strong analytical skills to help drive both tactical and strategic enhancements across all Financial Crime systems. You’ll take ownership of your responsibilities, contribute positively to a collaborative team environment, and deliver work with accuracy and timeliness. While we’ll provide ongoing training and support to help you get up to speed with our systems, prior experience with key Financial Crime tools such as SIRA, SONAR, Cifas, Mitek, ACI PRM, and ThreatMetrix is highly desirable. What you’ll do day to day Key Duties Supporting the development and execution of fraud detection and prevention and regulatory strategies across all FC systems. Analysing data across all FC systems to proactively identify emerging fraud trends and patterns. Contributing to delivery of tactical and strategic improvements across all FC systems. Developing, analysing, and monitoring key fraud metrics and generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and providing recommendations for improvements. Supporting the optimisation of all FC systems rule sets in line with the FC risk appetite, so that financial crime is identified and prevented at the point of application and ongoing, whilst false positive matches are minimized. Supporting the wider FC teams as a subject matter expert on all FC systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technology, risk management, and other business units, to implement fraud prevention and regulatory solutions. Keep abreast of industry best practices, emerging fraud schemes, and regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention and detection. Ensuring governance and controls are in place when utilising Fraud detection systems to ensure the bank is protected from both an internal and external risk perspective. Engaging with industry peers and third-party technology suppliers to understand emerging technologies. About You The Skills you’ll bring Knowledge of fraud and business data and how to interrogate this data effectively. Knowledge of DB platforms, e.g. SQL Server, Access, Oracle, SAS. Experience and understanding of data visualisation tools such as Tableau or MS Power BI. Knowledge and experience working with AI / Machine Learning Scoring Models. Experience in working within a Fraud / Financial Crime Unit of a major financial services organisation. Experience of analytical tools and languages e.g. SQL Server Query Analyser, SAS Base, TOAD, Access, Python, or Oracle Discoverer. Expert technical knowledge of fraud / financial crime detection systems, processes and platforms is essential, preferably ACI Worldwide solutions such as PRM (Proactive Risk Manager), SIRA, SONAR, CIFAS, ThreatMetrix, Mitek Extensive understanding of all types of payments fraud, AML, CTF, KYC and internal fraud practices. Accuracy in the investigation, interrogation and production of data is essential.In depth knowledge of analytical techniques applicable Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in management or computer information systems (MIS or CIS), Mathematics, AI / Machine Learning or related field. SQL / Database qualification from Microsoft / Oracle or other Financial Crime / Fraud / Cybercrime qualification Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills. The role may involve travel to industry meetings, so a clean driver’s licence is desired. Working Hours Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) 08:30 - 17:00 - hybrid role working 2 days in the office each week.
