Role Description
As Lead Process Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for driving the optimisation and improvement of the organisation's manufacturing operations, focusing on establishing effective process controls which enable high levels of quality performance, and on developing flow and reducing waste throughout each manufacturing value stream.
The role will also support implementation and lead on training for the effective introduction of new products and processes, ensuring that standardised methodologies are applied to their design and implementation in the manufacturing facility.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Significant Process Engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
• Experienced in the use of standard process engineering tools such as Yamazumi, Time-study (MOST), SOP's, Value Stream Mapping, SPC, Spaghetti diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
• Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead on process engineering maturity, designing and delivering training to Quality & Technical teams in the alignment of product industrialisation to APQP standards
• Deputise for the Process Engineering Manager when required
• Complete the day-today responsibilities of a Process Engineer in the value stream team to which you are allocated to support.
• Utilise the standardised Process Engineering tools and processes to ensure that all process engineering activities are completed accurately and consistently.
• Alongside the Quality Engineer, complete PFMEA and Control plan activities for all production processes, driving the associated implementation of process controls to support effective product and process quality.
• Ensure that live and up-to-date Standard Operating Instructions are documented and in place for all production processes and products.
• Own the effective implementation of the designed production process through the development and maintenance of detailed Production process maps, utilising standard process engineering tools such as Value Stream maps, Yamazumi Charts, Spaghetti Diagrams, and time study analysis (MOST).
• Develop and manage process efficiency improvement plans, with the aim of identifying and improving production flow and supporting the reduction of process waste and business costs.
• Manage all tooling within the value stream team to which you are allocated.
• Monitor and analyse manufacturing process data, identifying and proposing solutions for process improvement continuously.
• Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineering team to drive operational performance improvements within every Production process.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Complete the process engineering responsibilities associated with the introduction of new products and processes, working collaboratively with all functions as needed.
• Support the completion of Lean improvement events and activities from a Process Engineering perspective.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Support the utilisation of the BMS for the Process Engineering function.
• Support the development and the implementation of written procedures and organisational policies for the Process Engineering function.
• Routinely report on Process Engineering KPI's.
• Support the development and implementation of the annual improvement plan for the Process Engineering function.
• Support the annual external and internal audit schedule.
• Ensure compliance safety, environmental and regulatory compliance requirements for Process Engineering activities.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies and best practices.
