Our client is seeking a skilled and commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, supporting the delivery of substation upgrade.

The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial and contractual aspects of substation upgrades, providing expert advice on cost management, procurement, and contract administration. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This role offers exposure to complex, nationally significant infrastructure projects, and the chance to make a tangible impact on project outcomes through effective commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and maintain project cost plans, forecasts, and budgets
Monitor project expenditure and implement cost control measures to manage variances
Administer contracts (NEC, JCT, or similar), including drafting, variations, and final accounts
Manage subcontractor procurement, including tendering, evaluation, and award
Assess and process payment applications, variations, and claims
Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to senior stakeholders and client teams
Support dispute avoidance and resolution processes where required
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between commercial and project delivery objectives
Promote commercial best practice and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesAbout You
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure or energy projects
Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar contract forms
Demonstrable experience managing budgets, procurement, and contracts on complex projects
Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant commercial management software
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying is required. What's on Offer
