Overview
RCH Care Homes are recruiting for an Operations Director to work within the RCH Family. The role is remote covering Cambridge, Bedford and Kent for 7 services. This role has full accountability for the leadership, management and oversight of the care homes within the RCH group.
Responsibilities
* Lead the team in the delivery of high quality, innovative services and develop strong relationships with a broad range of customers and stakeholders including local authorities, CCGs, and care organisations.
* Deliver agreed objectives and targets for your area with a particular focus on quality targets and commercial performance through agreed targets and KPIs.
* Provide effective leadership to the General Managers in the homes. Foster good relationships internally with home teams, senior and regional colleagues, and the head office team.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with external stakeholders working in a collaborative and open manner. Develop relationships with regional officers, social workers, and other members of the healthcare profession, promoting the Company image as a dedicated health care provider.
* Ensure that all homes provide compassionate care and maintain a high standard of care delivery, reinforced by the regulatory body while working within budgetary targets.
* Ensure that all new General Managers receive a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing oversight to put skills into practice in line with company policy and procedure.
* Ensure that all home teams have effective and professional HR leadership and adopt an initiative-taking approach to recruitment and retention while minimising agency reliance.
* Ensure managers' training and development needs are identified and met, supporting achievement of business plan objectives and implementing succession planning.
* Ensure quality systems and audits are in place to monitor and achieve continual improvements in service delivery.
* Conduct quality audits on each service regularly to drive improvements in health and wellbeing outcomes for residents.
* Collaborate with Head of Sales & Marketing to drive occupancy and AWF in line with budgetary requirements.
* Ensure managers perform their duties as set out in their Job Descriptions and are supported to achieve operating objectives for their service, with a specific focus on referrals and occupancy levels.
* Ensure staff are recruited and managed within the Terms of Employment and Equal Opportunities Legislation.
* Implement the Health and Safety Policy and advise on its refinement where necessary.
* Be on call for operational and administrative matters arising outside normal working hours on a rota basis as required by the senior leadership team.
Qualifications
* Ideal candidate would be nurse qualified but not essential.
* Must have worked within the care sector.
* Hold a valid driving licence and be able to travel to all services.
* Strong commercial experience and a proven track record in increasing the private fee payer market.
