With a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-standing client relationships, the company specialises in delivering high-quality sub-contract packages across sectors such as residential, commercial, education, and healthcare. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of work, they are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit commercial team.
Role Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of various sub-contract packages from tender stage through to final account. You will work directly with clients, site teams, and suppliers to ensure cost control, value for money, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, valuations, and financial reports.
* Manage procurement, including tendering and subcontractor engagement.
* Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle.
* Measure and value work on-site and produce interim and final valuations.
* Prepare and agree variations, claims, and final accounts.
* Ensure contractual compliance under main contracts and sub-contracts.
* Work collaboratively with project managers and site teams to support efficient delivery.
* Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a sub-contracting environment.
* Sound understanding of construction contracts and processes.
* Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
* Good communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard QS software tools.
* Full UK driving licence.
